Tritones - Raider
Tritones are merfolk - half human, half fish. Harmless monsters found in the early regions of The North (Act V), first around Corinth and later in the northern shores as "Merfolk". Another similarly-named but reskinned variation (entirely covered in blueish fish-like skin rather than having a distinct human torso on a segmented piscine tail) is found in Atlantis, ambushing the hero on the shore part of the Atlas Highlands and later on in the city of Atlantis itself, where their strongest breed, the King Tritons (colored pale green), resides.
While Tritones aren't much of a challenge, they can prove deadly in Act VI, especially in large enough groups. Since all of them can enchant their weapons with lightning spells, protection against Cold and Lightning, alongside Piercing damage, is a must to resist them.

Equipment[]
In Act V you can obtain three components of their equipment, the Merfolk's Trident, Merfolk's Armor and the Merfolk's Coral Crown. As with a the other Act VI's monsters, Atlantinean Merfolks have more equipment that is shared with the Potamoi and also comes in the common (white) variants.
Notes[]
- Act V Tritones are merely reskinned Gorgon enemies with Centaur Torsoes and soundclips. The ones in Atlantis are given a graphical overhaul, though they still use the Centaur's grunts and yells.
- According to their Priestess Okyroe, Tritones normally were the loyal servants of Poseidon and not inclined to evil, having opposed to the Potamoi who instead rebelled. She blames the Serpentoid priest Ssquath for the enormous amount of Tritones who've turned hostile.
